Butan-1-ol for industrial use — Methods of test — Part 3: Sulphuric acid colour test
The principle consists in treatment of a test portion with sufphuric acid solution under specified conditions, comparison of the colour developed with that of the same volume of an agreed colour standard. By agreement between the interested parties, the colour developed may be measured in Hazen units (platinum-cobalt scale).
The Standard specifies the following characteristics of the oil. Appearance: Liquid. Colour: Almost colourless to yellow. Odour: Characteristic, spicy, camphorous. Relative density at 20/20 °C: 0,191 - 0,936. Refractive index at 20 °C: 1,4620 - 1,4680. Optical rotation at 20 °C: Range from + 22 to + 41 . Miscibility with 70 % (V/V) ethanol at 20 °C: 1 : 2 to 5. Acid value: Maximum 6. Ester value…
Fruits, vegetables and derived products — Determination of total sulphur dioxide content
The method consists in acidifying and heating a test portion, entraining, in a current of nitrogen, the gas liberated, absorbing and oxidizing the gas by bubbling it through a neutral, dilute hydrogen peroxide solution, then determining the sulphuric acid thus formed using standard volumetric sodium hydroxide solution. Verification of the determination is described in the annexes A and B,…
Polyglycols for industrial use — Determination of hydroxyl number — Phthalic anhydride esterificatio...
The hydroxy groups present in a test portion are esterified with phthalic anhydride. The excess phthalic anhydrids is hydrolyzed and the phthalic acid formed is neutralized with standard volumetric sodium hydroxide solution. If the sample contains free acidity or alkalinity a corresponding correction is made. From the corrected hydroxyl number, the apparat relative molecular mass may be…

1. Scope
1.1 This standard applies to a dispatch case of hard molded plastic with metal frame, scuff-resistant exterior and washable interior suitable for carrying files and papers up to legal-size documents.
1.2 This standard is primarily intended to serve the requirements of the federal government.
General rules for application and presentation are given. In the context of this standard the purpose of item references is restricted to the identification of component parts of assemblies and/or the identification of individual items detailed in the same drawing.
Structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance
Specifies the chemical and mechanical properties, methods of manufacture, acceptance conditions and marking. Applies to plates hot-rolled on reversing mills having a thickness of 3 mm and over, wide flats, bars, beams, sections and hollow sections. Does not deal with steels for which other Internationale Standards exist. The position and orientation of samples are given in the annex.
Size designation of clothes — Definitions and body measurement procedure
Is intended as a reference document to be consulted in conjunction with the ISO-Standard for the size designation of clothes applicable to the garment under consideration. Defines body dimensions and describes their measurement.
