Iron ores — Determination of sulfur content — Combustion method
The method ist applicable to a concentration range of 0,002 to 0,25 % (m/m) of sulfur in natural iron ores, and iron ore concentrates and agglomerates including sinter products. The results are not affected by the presence of fluoride. Specifies principle, reagents, apparatus, sampling and samples, procedure, expression of results, and test report. ISO 4690 includes three annexes.
Soils - Moisture-Density Relations Modified Proctor Test
The present standard describes the method to determine the relation between the
moisture content and the density of soils and soil aggregates when these are
compacted in standard moulds using 4,54 kg rammers dropped a height of 457 mm.
Four methods are described herein.
NOTE 1 - The laboratory compaction tests described in this standard generally
provide good measures of optimum moisture…
Propylene for industrial use — Determination of oligomers — Gas chromatographic method
A liquid sample obtained at low temperature is vaporized and then passed through a chromatographic column which permits the separation of the oligomers. The detection is performed by flame ionization an the peaks obtained are compared with those derived from an external standard. The method is applicable to propylene having propene dimers (hexenes) contents greater than 20mg/kg and propene…
Butadiene for industrial use — Determination of active tert-butyl-catechol (TBC) (4- (1,1- dimethyle...
The active TBC in a test portion is extracted by mixing with a solution containing m-nitrophpenol (as the internal standard) and evaporating the butadiene. The TBC and m-nitrophenol are separated by high-performance liquid chromatography and detected by UV: The peak areas or peak heights are measured and the TBC content is determined by using a calibration graph. The polymerization inhibitor TBC…
Oil of cedarwood, Texas (Juniperus mexicana Schiede)
The Standard specifies the following characteristics of the oil. Appearance: Viscous liquid. Colour: Brown to reddish brown. Odour: Characteristic. Relative density at 20/20 °C: 0,952 - 0,966. Refractive index at 20 °C: 1,5050 - 1,5080. Optical rotation at 20 °C: Range from - 50 to - 32 . Miscibility with 90 % (V/V) ethanol at 20 °C: 1 : 5. Alcohols content, expressed as cedrol: 35 - 48 % (m/m).…
Iron ores — Determination of manganese content — Periodate spectrophotometric method
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 3886:1977), some clauses and annex A of which have been technically revised. The method is applicable to a concentration range of 0,02 to 8 % (m/m) of manganese in natural iron ores, and iron ore concentrates and agglomerates including sinter products.
Cold-reduced carbon steel strip with a maximum carbon content of 0,25 %
Applies to strip furnished to two levels of closer tolerances than cold-reduced carbon steel sheet, with specific quality, specific hardness requirements or mechanical properties, specific edge and specific finish. This product is commonly produced in thicknesses of 6 mm and under, and in widths up to 600 mm exclusive, in coils and cut lengths. Temper requirements or mechanical properties may be…
