Packaging — Complete, filled transport packages — Toppling test
This International Standard specifies a method for carrying out a toppling test on a complete, filled transport package which may be exposed to the danger of toppling during storage, transport and handling. The test may be used to assess the performance of a package in terms of its strength or the protection that it offers to its contents when it is subject to toppling. lt may be performed either…
Carbonaceous materials for the production of aluminium — Calcined coke — Determination of oil conten...
Calcined coke may be treated with different types of oil in order to limit the formation of a dust cloud during loading and transportation. The method specified in this International Standard permits the determination of the loss of mass in calcined coke after elimination of oil adhering to the particles, by extraction with dichloromethane (methylene chloride) in an extraction apparatus.
Fertilizers — Determination of potassium content — Titrimetric method
The method consists in precipitating of potassium ions by an excess of sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) in a weakly alkaline medium, filtrating and determing of the unused NaTPB by back titration with cetyltrimethylammoniumbromide solution. The test solution shall be prepared as specified in ISO 5317 or ISO 7407.
Steel and iron — Determination of chromium content — Potentiometric or visual titration method
The method is applicable to chromium contents between 0.25 % (m/m) and 35 % (m/m). Specifies principle, reagents, apparatus, sampling, procedure, expression of results and test report. Annex A gives additional information on the international co-operative tests, and Annex B represents the precision data graphically.
Polyolefin pipes and fittings — Determination of carbon black content by calcination and pyrolysis —...
The determination is carried out by pyrolysis of a test portion at 550 °C in nitrogen followd by a calcination in a muffle furnace at 900 °C. The carbon black content is calculated from difference in mass before and after calcination. When so determined the carbon black content in polyethylen pipe material shall be 2,5 0,5 % (m/m).
Steel and cast iron — Determination of total silicon content — Reduced molybdosilicate spectrophotom...
Specifies principle, reagents, apparatus, sampling, procedure, expression of results and test report. Annex A gives additional information on the international co-operative tests. Annex B represents the precision data graphically.
Surface active agents — Water used as a solvent for tests — Specification and test methods
The following requirements are specified: residue after evaporation, electrical conductivity, oxidizable matter expressed in oxygen content, absorbance at 254 nm and 1 cm cell optical path length: 0.01 units max., reactive silica content, surface tension. The corresponding methods of test are specified in an annex.
Light olefins for industrial use — Determination of molecular oxygen in gaseous phase — Electrochemi...
After sampling and preparation of the laboratory sample the gaseous test portion is passed at a given rate through an electrochemical cell previously calibrated with air or with standard mixtures containing a known amount of oxygen, and the concentration of oxygen in the gaseous olefin is measured. The method is applicable to light olefins having an oxygen content greater than 1 milliliter per…
Shall be used in conjunction with detail specifications concerning each pump model. Includes functional requirements, quality assurance provisions, qualification tests, acceptance tests, storage and packaging. A schematic summary is provided in the annex for easy reference to the contents of this International Standard.
