Cellular plastics — Determination of shear strength of rigid materials
The method is based on the application of a shear stress to a test specimen of defined shape by means of metal supports bonded to the specimen. The adhesive used to fix the metal supports to the test specimen shall be such that shear strength and modulus of the adhesive film are significantly greater than that of the cellular material under test.
Linseed stand oil for paints and varnishes — Specifications and methods of test
Specifies the requirements and the methods of test for five types of linseed stand oil. Certain of these materials are referred to as "lithographic varnishes". Cancels and replaces ISO Recommendation R 276-1962.
Should be read in conjunction with ISO 4297. Specifies principle, reagents, apparatus, sample, procedure and expression of results. A figure gives an example of apparatus.
Coniferous sawn timber — Sizes — Permissible deviations and shrinkage
Relates to deviations from nominal thicknesses, widths and lengths due to inaccuracies in sawing. Is applicable to unplaned square-edged and unedged sawn timber having thicknesses or widths in the range of 10 mm to 310 mm. Average values for shrinkage for some wood species are given in annexes A and B.
Plastics — Measurement of resistivity of conductive plastics
Specifies the requirements for the laboratory testing of the resistivity of specially prepared specimens of plastics made conductive by the incorporation of carbon black. The test is suitable for materials having a resistivity of less than 104 Ohm x m. A stable d.c. current is passed between electrodes at the ends of a test piece. A schematic diagram of the test circuit is given. The voltage drop…
Condensed phosphates for industrial use (including foodstuffs) — Determination of calcium content — ...
Applicable to products having Ca contents equal to or more than 50 mg/kg. The presence of soluble SiO2 up to 5 g/ml in the test solution does not interfere. Hydrolysis by boiling a test portion in hydrochloric acid medium. Addition of sodium ions, until a constant concentration is obtained, to stabilize the promotion and emission of Ca; addition of lanthanum chloride to increase the sensitivity…
Technical drawings — Geometrical tolerancing — Datums and datum-systems for geometrical tolerances
Gives definitions, practical embodiments and indications in technical drawings in the field of mechanical engineering. For uniformity all figures are in first angle projection. For the proportions and dimensions of symbols, see ISO 7083.
But-2-ene 1,4-diol for industrial use — Determination of iodine value
A test solution is treated with an excess of acidified potassium bromide-bromate solution in the presence of mercury(II) sulphate. After addition of potassium iodide solution the liberated iodine is titrated with standard volumetric sodium thiosulphate solution.
