1.1 This document sets forth the minimum requirements for the installation, operation, inspection and tests applicable to Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES). NOTE: This document is intended to apply to both required and voluntary ERCES. 1.2 This document specifies how ERCES shall be installed to perform their intended function.

These requirements cover newly produced/factory built gas-fired packaged boiler assemblies (including heating, hot water supply, and power boilers) having input ratings of more than 117,228 W (400,000 Btu/hr), per individual combustion chamber, and intended primarily for commercial and industrial installations.
