Special Purpose plastic tanks

1.1 The following requirements provide the minimum criteria for the material properties and performance of nonmetallic containers of the non-pressure type, intended to bulk store and dispense combustible (such as new lubricating oil) and non-combustible liquids (such as windshield washer fluid, anti-freeze, etc).

1.2 These requirements cover single wall containers or containers with secondary containment, that dispense liquids by way of gravity or by a non-pressure type pump (hand or air-operated).

1.3 These requirements cover the design and construction of nonmetallic containers up to 2500 L nominal capacity.

1.4 These requirements cover containers fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from the factory.

1.5 These requirements cover the construction of containers for use in stationary installations inside buildings, mainly in automotive repair and service centres and shops.

1.6 The installation of such containers may be covered by any of the following documents:

A National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4;

B Regulations of the appropriate authority having jurisdiction
