1.1 This Standard outlines requirements for the installation of spray applied rigid polyurethane foam, high density. The material can be installed for thermal insulation or for other purposes in building and non-building applications. The application requirements are for the installation of spray applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastic whether applied on a building site or in a prefabrication (manufacturing) facility. This Standard may be used for non-building applications when agreed to by the supplier and the purchaser.
1.2 These requirements include obligations for the Supplier, the contractor and the installer.
1.3 These requirements include the selection of chemical components, application requirements, quality control and documentation of the application, limitations for the application and requirements for safety and for disposal of associated waste material and packaging.
1.4 Spray application of spray polyurethane foam, high density according to this Standard requires the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this Standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
