ANSI/CAN/UL 3202:2025
Scope
1.1 These requirements cover systems that are used for charging of electric vehicles. The systems
consist of conductive EV supply equipment which are integrated with energy storage systems. The energy
storage system could be housed in a separate cabinet or could be housed within the EV supply equipment
itself. The systems may have multiple inputs from other sources including generators, photovoltaic arrays,
connection to a grid power source, or others. The output of these systems is only used to supply power to
an electric vehicle for the purposes of recharging the onboard battery. These requirements address safety
and compatibility of the various subsystems when integrated into the overall system.
1.2 The systems covered by these requirements are intended to be movable or relocatable in between
uses. This may be by mounting the systems on a mobile trailer or by other means. Systems may consist of
autonomous products that are able to self-locate for use and then return to a centrally located base.
Systems may or may not be connected to a grid power source during use or in between uses. If connected
to a grid power source, no back feeding of power onto the grid is allowed.
1.3 These systems are intended for installation and use in outdoor locations in accordance with the
National Electrical Code, NFPA 70 or with Canadian Electrical Code (CE Code), CSA C22.1.
1.4 These requirements do not apply to systems that are provided with more than one output type,
meaning EV charging and another output.
